The 4th SMACC (Social Media & Critical Care) Conference will be held at the Convention Centre, Dublin over four days from Monday 13th to Thursday 16th June 2016. Previous SMACC conferences have taken place in Sydney and on the Gold Coast, Australia and most recently in Chicago, USA. The 2016 SMACC DUB meeting represents the first SMACC Conference to take place in Europe and will welcome over 2,000 delegates to this sold out event, from all corners of the globe.
SMACC is an international not-for-profit charitable trust that brings together innovative medical professionals from around the world to produce Free Open Access Medical education known as FOAMed.
The conference will also see the launch of the Irish Children’s Triage System (ICTS), the first national scoring system for prioritising children who attend Emergency Departments. Systems in current use are derived from adult scoring systems and are less effective than ICTS, which has been extensively piloted in different Emergency Departments around Ireland to very positive reviews.
IAEM is delighted that Dublin has been chosen to host this prestigious event which will build on the fantastic experience many international delegates had at the International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM) in 2012 at the same venue, as well as Ireland’s very enthusiastic and creative FOAMed community who have been at the forefront of high class Emergency Medicine and Critical Care education using social media technology. A number of Association members are involved in the Conference in various roles.
We hope that all international SMACC DUB delegates will truly enjoy Ireland’s world-famous one hundred thousand welcomes…
