IAEM becomes IAEM Limited on 7th March 2012
On 7th March 2012 a Business Transfer Agreement was signed transferring the assets, good will and functions of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine into the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine Limited. The agreement was signed at a special IAEM meeting in Eccles St, Dublin. Some photographs from the event are below:

New Emergency Department for Kerry General Hospital, Tralee
The opening of newest Emergency Department in the country, that at Kerry General Hospital, Tralee took place on Monday 16th April 2012. Below are some photographs taken just before the opening of the department to the public.

Redevelopment work ongoing at Waterford Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department
Redevelopment of the Waterford Regional Hospital site is under way and the project will deliver a significantly enhanced Emergency Department for the South East’s Regional Hospital. Below are some photographs of the work from April 2012.

Launch of Emergency Medicine Programme by Minister of Health, Dr James Reilly TD
The Report of the National Emergency Medicine Programme was published on 19th June 2012. It was officially launched by the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly TD in the Albert Lecture Theatre in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland on St. Stephen’s Green. Inaugural National Meeting of the Emergency Medicine Student Society, Ireland on 24th September 2012
The Inaugural National Meeting of the Emergency Medicine Student Society, Ireland took place at Trinity College, Dublin on Monday 24th September 2012. Some photographs from the event are below

Second Annual Leo Vella Lecture
The 2012 Leo Vella Lecture was given by Mr. Anthony J (Tony) Martin, Retired Consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospital, Galway. Tony was the first Consultant in the specialty to have completed the UK Senior Registrar training programme and was appointed in 1988 to what was then called Galway Regional Hospital. He gave a personal perspective on his experience as a Consultant interlaced with pearls of advice for the next generation
