Mr Fergal Hickey, IAEM Communications Officer, was part of a discussion on RTE’s Joe Duffy Liveline radio programme which followed a family explaining their experience of their father attending an Emergency Department with diarrhoea which was subsequently confirmed as Clostridium Difficile, a highly infectious condition, and their concern about the appropriateness of his care in an open area of an ED.
