HSE National Emergency Medicine Programme (EMP)

The appointment of Dr Barry White as HSE National Director of Clinical Care resulted in the development of a number of Clinician & Specialty driven Programmes to develop a national approach to service delivery. The necessity for there to be a national Emergency Medicine Programme rapidly became apparent after the initial steps in a variety of first round projects, namely Acute Medicine, Critical Care and programmes dealing with the various Chronic Medical conditions which result in the overwhelming majority of acute hospitalisations.

The National Emergency Medicine Programme Report was launched by the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly TD, at RCSI on 19th June 2012.

This section of the website contains a repository of various references, papers and documents which may be of use to members and informed the Emergency Medicine Programme.
