PARC guide for families of victims of road traffic collisions at its recent Annual Scientific Meeting
PARC (Promoting Awareness, Responsibility and Care on our roads) is an Irish nongovernmental organisation which has advocated for improved road safety and for road traffic victims since 2006. At its Annual Scientific Meeting in Letterkenny recently, the President of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine, Mr. Mark Doyle, paid tribute to the work of PARC in supporting the families of those who have lost their lives in road traffic collisions. Mr. Doyle encouraged his colleagues in Emergency Medicine to stock copies of the PARC Guide Finding Your Way – a guide for victims following the death or serious injury of a loved one in a road traffic collision in their departments and to make this resource for bereaved families easily available in Emergency Departments throughout the country as needed. The guide is also accessible on the IAEM website.
On behalf of the Association, Mr. Doyle reiterated the need for further work to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on our roads and confirmed IAEM’s commitment to work with the PARC Road Safety Group and other community partners to achieve this shared objective.
