Dr Fergal Hickey, a senior emergency consultant at Sligo Regional Hospital, has warned that the increasing numbers of patients infected with influenza being admitted to overcrowded emergency hospital departments is like throwing a match to a tank of oil. Overcrowding in Emergency Departments is just one of many issues facing Minister for Health James Reilly.
